When three instruments enter into a dialog ...
The “slightly different lunch break,” offered by the Protestant Airport Chaplaincy, is a regular and ongoing feature. The idea behind it is for airport staff to engage in “communication” with fellow employees—as well as with travelers—thereby appealing to other senses in a fast-paced and sometimes highly demanding work environment through a different kind of break from the daily routine. Calmness, reflection, and cultural enjoyment are the hallmarks of this concept.
On April 8, 2026, we are pleased to welcome a well-known jazz trio of a special kind to our venue. Mark Schwarzmayr (as), Stefan Kreuscher (db), and Martin Schmitt (git) will immerse us in the world of jazz with their original compositions and standards.
Mark Schwarzmayr performs as a pianist, on the Hammond organ, synthesizers, and as a saxophonist. His passion and expressive playing make him a welcome musician on every stage.
Stefan Kreuscher’s approach is that of a framework builder and rhythm provider, and through his empathy with the music, he sees himself as a soul-giver. The bassist is a fixture in many bands in the Rhine-Main region; beyond that, he lends his tasteful and guiding low-end accents to countless theater music productions and musicals in Frankfurt and the surrounding area.
Martin Schmitt, so to speak, provides the link to the airport context. Since 1987, this federal police officer has been stationed at Germany’s largest airport; he has dedicated himself to jazz music, and his years of musical growth have been rooted in unity, mutual support, and solidarity with fellow musicians. — And these qualities, which are at the very heart of what it means to be human, are surely familiar to every woman and every man.
Thus, the trio’s program can be viewed as a kind of approach, for that is what it is all about: recognizing connections that are somehow related and bringing them into context in order to build connections, harmonize relationships, and see whether commonalities can foster interaction. Attributes such as serenity, openness, and a conscious willingness to embrace promising opportunities have consistently served as good guides for the three musicians. - It’s about almost nothing else. You are hereby cordially invited to this event to immerse yourself in the musical world of this trio.
